CSR activities for the environment
On August 14, 2015, Nong Thanon Farm organized a vetiver grass planting activity along the edge of a water reservoir to prevent bank erosion and soil erosion. This activity is part of a CSR project focused on soil and water conservation and the restoration of the agricultural ecosystem. Employees and local residents joined forces to plant vetiver grass along the edge of the reservoir. Vetiver grass has outstanding properties in holding soil, deep roots, and filtering sediment, resulting in cleaner water. It also provides a habitat for microorganisms in the ecosystem. “This activity not only prevents soil loss and reduces water contamination, but also raises awareness of the importance of environmental stewardship between the farm and the community,” Nong Thanon Farm said. Nong Thanon Farm aims to expand the vetiver grass planting area in other areas of the farm and organize ongoing environmental activities to contribute to maintaining the fertility of the soil and water sources.
